Indoor dining returns to New York City this week, kinda, sorta, maybe, and for who knows how long? But as the warmth of dining rooms — albeit at a quarter occupancy — beckons, we can’t but help grow excited thinking about all those little moments of eating out that were buried in the COVID-19 tundra, those trifling restaurant pleasures that, like much of the pleasure of dining out, have little to do with the food itself.
